Rita has been the Executive Director of RMHC since 2002. She has worked in non-profit administration for her entire professional career in positions committed to improving the lives of women, children and families. In addition, she is a member of the Rotary Club of Dayton and serves on its Membership Committee. Rita and her husband Lee have two children. Her son Alex attends Ohio University in Athens and her daughter attends West Carrollton High School.

At the end of the day, RMHC provides a "home away from home" for the families of critically ill children, and statistically we know that having their families with them improves their chances of getting better."

Al has been a McDonald's Owner/Operator for over 20 years and is the past recipient of the McDonald's President Award.  He is a married father of two who enjoys travel and road biking.  His greatest accomplishments are providing consistent, quality employment to over 250 people and being a good example to his two daughters.  Al has supported the House financially for years but is now excited to be able to provide a higher level of involvement through serving on the RMHC Board.

During Cindy's 24 years at Dayton Children's, she has been the project director for the renovation of both, the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, as well as the Wallace Critical Care Complex. Under Cindy's leadership, each design has received national and international acclaim. She is now the project director for the renovation of the Soin Pediatric Trauma and Emergency Center. Cindy says, "Improving the health care of the children of the Miami Valley region has been my life's work. The families of the children that we serve need the services of the RMH more than ever. "

Ed has been a dedicated McDonald's Owner/Operator for the past 11 years and has enjoyed a career of longevity with the McDonald's organization for the past 34 years in total.

Jennifer Fox Jennifer Fox

Jennifer has been in the financial services industry for 19 years and is the Treasurer of Valley View Booster Athletic Club. She is a resident of Germantown and a married mother of two teenagers. Jennifer joined the RMHC Board because of the support given to families of children with serious illnesses. She also respects the mission and core services of RMHC and is thankful to be a part of the organization.

Ann recently started with Commuter Advertising after being with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce for nearly eleven years. Previous to the Chamber she was a teacher at the Hillel Academy for eighteen years. She is a lifetime Dayton resident and has been married to her husband for 38 years. Ann's love for the health of children in the community, and the support of their families, attracted her to volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House. She was honored to be asked to join the RMHC Board and has served as Co-Chair of RMHC’s successful Doors of Compassion event since 2009.

Ms. Borgert has served the southwest Ohio healthcare market since 1979 as a human resource executive. She has served the community in a variety of leadership roles such as past Chair of the Butler-Warren County Workforce Policy Board, and President of the Centerville-Washington Foundation. Ms. Borgert worked at Children’s Medical Center when RMHC first opened and volunteered at the original House. Serving on the RMHC Board provides Karen an opportunity to honor the memory of Connie Doty and her son.

Dr. Broxson is married to wife Carole, and enjoys reading, wine and fitness. He joined the RMHC Board of Trustees in order to support the organization that provides services for our region’s children and families.

Emily is a married mother who enjoys music, theater productions, shopping and community support. She has directed all Human Resource initiatives and programs for Cox Media Group Ohio since 1999, which employs over 1,100. Emily has over 20 years of experience in the field of human resources for both domestic and international companies. She is very happy to work with an organization that does so much for so many families and is a firm believer that giving your time and service to others is a way to truly show that you appreciate your blessings.

Tracy has been the recipient of 2 Louise Herring National Philosophy in Action Awards in 2010 & 2011, as well as the Cutting Edge Marketing Brilliance Award in 2010. She chose to serve on the RMHC Board because, she says, "Ronald McDonald House Charities touches the lives of people when they least expect it. Many parents never dream they will have such a need. Children are the cornerstone for our future and when a family has an organization like the RMHC supporting them during times of distress it makes a big difference on our community long-term."

Shanel and her husband Jeremy have a dog-hter named Minky. She enjoys cooking, baking, yoga, spending time with friends, and outdoor activities such as golf and tennis. Shanel served her college internship at RMHC of the Miami Valley and has now come full circle to serve on the Board, she is excited to "give in another capacity to a great organization". Shanel said she has, "great admiration for the work that RMHC staff and volunteers do to fulfill the mission, and being able to be a part of the House again is an honor."

When Leah isn’t training with her business, she enjoys spending time with her husband, James, and 4 grandchildren. Leah was a 2010 25 Women to Watch recipient and an advisory board member for Women in Business Networking. As an active and loving Nana to her grandchildren, knowing that there is an organization like RMHC available to parents and families with critically ill children is extremely important. When asked to become a part of the RMHC Board, she didn’t think twice. Leah wants to give back to her community and can’t think of a better way than RMHC.

Lori and her husband Chris have 2 young daughters, Morgan & Tatum and a boxer named CoCo Chanel. Her interests include politics, public policy, the arts, and the Junior League of Dayton. She is a past recipient of the DBJ 40 Under 40 Award, was the 2010 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year Runner Up, and was the Ohio University Delta Gamma Alumnae of the Year in 2002. Lori has a passion for the right of every child to have quality health care. Serving on the RMHC Board gives her the ability to assist families who are often dealing with the most challenging times of their lives.

Dr. Barnes-Lark is a married mother of four children. She has a connection to the House from her years serving patients and their families, and as a past House volunteer. She also lends her time to various other community groups and organizations as a member of the WSU Minority Scholarship Committee and WSU School of Medicine Admissions Committee, Girl Scouts troop leader, and member of the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Ron’s greatest accomplishment has been building his business from scratch and growing to one of the top franchises in over 700 throughout the country. Ron says, “ My daughter was born 7 weeks premature and spent the first month of her life in the neo-natal care of the Children’s Hospital. My daughter was healthy and needed to gain weight. However, I saw many very sick children while she was there and witnessed the toll it takes on parents. I feel at this time in my life and career, I can now help make families more comfortable during these difficult times.”

Witnessing many changes throughout the years, Chris says she “would like to help families that are in need of a caring resource that provides basic needs at a critical time in their lives and the lives of their children. Using my experience as a parent, my relationships in the community and education, I want to give back to others a portion of what I have been blessed with in life”.

John recently passed the gavel as the Chairman of the Board for the International Association of Assembly Managers, the world's largest professional association dedicated to issues relevant to the management of public assembly venues. He is currently employed by VenuWorks as the Director of Support Services.  John has worked in the public assembly industry since 1965 at Hara Arena and the Ervin J Nutter Center at Wright State University.  John also lends his time to serving other organizations, including Aullwood Audubon Center and Hospice of Dayton.

Sean has a major in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton. He previously served 5 years in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. After leaving the Air Force he worked in the Chicago area, and returned to Dayton in 2010 to work at Turner Property Services Group starting out in the maintenance division and now focusing on property management. Sean is excited to give back and be a part of an organization dedicated to the support of families with critically ill children. He lives in Kettering with his wife Samantha and their three kids.

Dana is the retired owner/operator of several McDonald’s restaurants throughout Southwest Ohio and Richmond, Indiana. Beyond his obvious business-savvy, Dana has long been committed to the belief of Ray Kroc (McDonald’s founder) to always give back to the local community through leadership and involvement. As a result, he has received numerous awards for his outstanding community service throughout the years.
