Ronald McDonald House of Dayton provides a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving hospitalized medical care at any area hospital. These families visit our House as a resident guest, or may stop by as a Day Guest, to relax and have a hot meal.
To access the House as a Resident or Day Guest, a family needs only to call the House and speak to Guest Relations. If a room is needed, a family will be placed on the room request list and will be notified when a room is available.
At registration a guest needs to bring photo identification as verification of adult age and permanent address, along with a $20 refundable room deposit if staying in a guest room. Registration occurs between 6:30 AM and 9:00 PM daily. The House considers the critical nature of a child’s condition and the distance a family must travel, as well as other factors when looking at priority for admission.
If advance accommodations are needed for a child’s future hospital stay, please call our office to be placed on the room request list. A second call should be placed within 24 hours of the child’s scheduled hospital stay to seek confirmation of room availability.
Our House has 14 private guest rooms where families can stay and find rest. Each guest room is equipped with a private bath, 2 twin beds, an armoire, and a love seat that converts into a twin bed. Pack-n-plays are also available upon request. In addition, all guests have access to our playroom, activity room, laundry room, kitchen and dining area, outdoor play area and additional common areas used for respite.
There is no charge to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. However, we kindly suggest a donation to help cover costs associated with serving families. No family is ever turned away based on ability to pay.
