What are pull tabs used for?
Ronald McDonald House Charities recycles and receives salvage value for the aluminum tabs that can be found on various beverages, soup, pet food and other common canned items.
How have pull tabs helped?
Through the help of our caring community, Ronald McDonald House Charities raises approximately $14,000 a year from recycling pull tabs!
Why only collect the tabs?
The tabs are collected, as opposed to the entire container, because they take up less space and are more sanitary to store. They are also of a higher quality aluminum than the rest of the container.
Ways you can help!
Start your own pull tab collection! Tell all your friends, family, and co-workers about this worthy, no-cost cause. The Chapter can provide pull tab collection houses for you or your group. Since the cost for each cardboard house is approximately 20 cents, a donation to cover the cost is greatly appreciated from those who need a large number.
Get your kids involved! Please see the elementary school curriculum available for teachers to use as an educational tool.
What do I do with my pull tab collection?
You may drop your tabs off at the Ronald McDonald House Charities or contact us for other drop off locations.
Or you may drop them off at our Annual Tab-a-pull-ooza Pull Tab Collection Contest. Bring your pull tab collection to be weighed and automatically entered to win valuable prizes. Prizes are awarded in the following categories: Individual, School and Group.
