 - The Ronald McDonald House of Dayton is open to any family with a child 18 years of age or younger who is being treated at any area hospital, as long as they can show proof of having a permanent address.  There are some restrictions regarding parents and/or other family members under the age of 18.

- Admission to the House is NOT based on a family's financial condition or their ability to pay.  There is no charge to stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.

- The House is a home for up to 14 families at a time. Families are accepted for admission on a space available basis. They are placed on a waiting list and admitted as space becomes available. Priority for admission is based on the critical nature of the child's medical condition and the distance the family lives from the hospital.

- When a family knows in advance that their child will be having treatment at a Dayton area hospital, and they wish to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, they need to call our office at 937 224-0047, and place their name on our waiting list.  They then need to call the day before the hospital appointment to check on our room status, and to let us know they are coming for sure.  We cannot offer reservations because the length of some hospital stays is unknown,  and we may or may not have an available room on a specific date.

- For families whose trip to the hospital is somewhat unexpected, they should indicate to a hospital staff person that they are interested in getting a room at the Ronald McDonald House.  The staff person will then call the House and place the family's name on our waiting list.  Once we have a chance to check our room status, we will contact the family or the staff person to let them know if a room is available.

- Since our occupancy is normally rather high, we can only offer one room per patient family most of the time.  Each room is equipped with 2 twin beds and a love seat that converts to a twin bed.  Portacribs and rollaway beds are available upon request.

- Families may register between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. As the Ronald McDonald House is set up more like a house than a hotel, it does take a few minutes to register a guest and orient the family to our House and its guidelines.

- All adults will need a photo ID to register.

- There is no fee to stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.  Currently, we have a $5 deposit for each room key.  This deposit will be returned at check out once all keys have been returned and the room has been inspected for and shows no damage.

- Many families choose to donate the key deposit, and more, at the end of their stay. Our actual cost to provide a room is about $100 for a 24 hour period, so donation of any size are essential to make our House available to families in need, and to keep our cost low.
